Deep clean lake with its nine comers is a captivating state. Its length is 983 m. breadth 693 m. It is within an enchanting valley offering an opportunity of angling and bird watching. There is ample scope for rowing, paddling or yachting.

Naukuchiyatal means Nine-Comered Lake. A legend has it that whoever can spot all 9 corners in one go. Will become a millionaire. Naukuchiyatal is 4 km from ghimtal and the lake is larger and more beautiful than Bhimtal or Nainital.

Till recently, Naukuchiyatal was not being promoted by the tourism department, and even

today it remains slightly off the normal tourist circuit. Most tourist only stop here during the day and a few actually stay at Naukuchiyatal. The town itself is no more than a dispersed village, and the place is always calm, serene and extremely peaceful. Naukuchiyatal offers Tandem paragliding. Kumon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) guides run the paragliding operation from a hill about 4 km from the lake. The hill is approximately 150 m high and the gliding lasts for about 5 minutes. It is truly an exciting experience for the adventurer.
