Ukhrul, the highest and the most popular hill station of the state, is located to the east of Imphal, the capital city of Manipur. Ukhrul is well developed and is a centre of a colourful warrior tribe, the Tangkhul Nagas. It bears a gay and festive appearance during Christmas, Siroi Hills and Khangkhui Lime Caves are interesting places for excursions.

Ukhrul is also known for a peculiar type of land-lily, the Siroi Lily, grown in abundance on the Siroi Hills at an altitude of 8,500 feet. This ordinary looking Siroi Lily, which grows only in this part of the world, blooms during May-June.
 
   
How to Reach  
   

Ukhrul is located 83 km from Imphal. Access to Imphal:
Airport - Imphal
Railhead — Dimapur (in Nagaland) is 215 km.
Road - National Highway 39 links Imphal with Guwahati via Dimapur and National Highway 53 with Silchar. But, for the tourists, it is best to fly in.
